In the beginning
DealDotCom’s affiliate program, offering insanely low deals on various pieces of software and programs, has been a great add-on for any web site owner. I simply would place a screen shot of the Deal of the Day on my right sidebar along with the price and a ‘buy it now’ message. This is good in theory but let me explain how this was very unprofessional and made me look bad. Don’t worry though, it all comes out smelling roses bananas in the end.
Credibility Lost
Picture this: For me to keep the Deal of the Day going I had to get up every morning, download the new screen shot of the product, upload it to my server, and change the pricing. This was a pain in my blue monkey butt. I was never up at midnight. That is when the changing of the deals occurred. My site would always offer the wrong product for 5 or 6 hours until I got up. This was very misleading but it gets worse.
Also I was always forgetting to set the price properly, so in effect I had some misleading ads on my site. People would click the link, go to DealDotCom and see that the product and/or price that they had wanted was not as I had shown. This is just plain bad for an Internet Marketer to do. I know I have lost sales and affiliates because of it. I needed to fix this, so I decided to see if there was a DealDotCom plugin for us WordPress users.
I Dropped DealDotCom
I did find a couple and fiddled with them, but they were too complicated and I could not get them to work properly. I said to heck with it and dropped DealDotCom off of my site. If I could not keep the information correct and current I would just as soon not have it all.
Say hello to MaxBlogPress
But then I found the perfect solution to bring DealDotCom back. Yesterday, I discovered another DealDotCom plugin and this one made me sit up and take notice.
MaxBlogPress has just released a super-charged DealDotCom plugin for WordPress that not only keeps your DealDotCom adverts current, it provides an avenue to help you attract new referrals with your affiliate link embedded.
How to download
To make this plugin work you need to provide a user name and email address to them, download the plugin, read an advertising promotion, decide whether to accept their deal or not, and then download the DealDotCom MaxBlogPress plugin.
What is in it for MaxBlogPress? What is in it for the Mad Ape? What is in it for YOU?
Seems like a lot of steps but it really is not. MaxBlogPress has provided this plugin for free so they are entitled to offer an ad while you are obtaining the freebie. Further they will help you in such a way that you can offer that same deal to any referrals that you send to the MaxBlogPress plugin…like I am now.
How to install it
Anyway I installed the plugin, went to options, set my DealDotCom ID in the following format: http://www.dealdotcom.com/invite/5007/ – DO NOT JUST USE YOUR ID NUMBER. USE THE WHOLE ID LINK. Next I had to enter a ClickBank ID. I already had a ClickBank ID from my current peeler page promo, so did not need to sign up again. The reason this ClickBank ID is required is to provide any potential affiliates with a referral link to the embedded advert that MaxBlogPress has in their download procedure of the plugin.
Lastly to get the plugin going, I went to my widgets page, and activated the MaxBlogPress plugin by dropping the MBP DealDotCom widget into my right sidebar. You can see it for yourself. Looks good huh?
MaxBlogPress does provide a great set of instructions on their blog, if my basic instructions are not good enough.
If you are a DealDotCom affiliate this is a must. I strongly recommend this product.
