Hello Brian,

I was thinking about this the other day and whether I should now be recommending to my readership that now is the time to upgrade. I did download 2.7.1 and installed it on a test blog that I run. I was not impressed. I find the whole admin section cumbersome and poorly designed.

I let it go at that as I thought that it may have been just me and something I need to get used to. But based on your comments, I will not be upgrading anytime soon.

Hold on to your less than 2.7 version of WordPress folks. Why take a chance on losing your data?

I just upgraded to WordPress 2.7.1 yesterday and today I noticed I have no categories. Very frustrating. Now I have to figure out where they went and how to get them back. I should have waited. I backed the site up but since I didn't realize they were missing for a whole day I will loose comments if I restore it.

So let us proceed with todays lesson boys and girls.

WordPress 2.7 bugs:

1 - The WYSIWYG editor screws up when using the “TinyMCE Plugin
2 - Recent Drafts date is January 1, 1970
3 - WP-Grin plugin - Comments showing emoticons in the wrong place
4 - CSS issues with buttons
5- Can't move the QuickPress box

That is just a start. Just as I predicted WordPress is being swamped with bug reports and now they are already getting to release Version 2.7.1.

As I said before, at the dismay to at least one blind lemming, WAIT. Stay the course. Do not upgrade until they have a good stable release and developers have time to fix their plugins.

Stay tuned for more...I am sure that I will be slammed some more but no matter...I am right and Hiroshi's of the world are wrong.

That's Stupid. After bug testing you get the latest version. There are geniuses behind the scenes you can't see who work day and night so that you may save from trouble of moving your a** for such big software development issues. Your rubbish prediction. Already many plugins have been upgraded to meet the latest release. There are no bugs and incompatibility. I have upgraded it and seen it all. The new release is way to speedy and with turbo tools. Infact you want to save ur a** from hackers, upgrade right away. Sorry for bad language. Some ppl are emotional for WordPress and can't hear nonsense about it.
