Man on man what a crazy week for my Sportsfolio. I am up around $1800.00 thanks in large part to a hefty jump in the value of the NHL’s Tampa Bay Lightning. I own 2,559 derivatives (shares) of this this, which is 12.8% of the total float. The price jumped from $0.21/share mid-week and has held it. My total account value as of Sept 22, 2007 is $68,415.27. Not too bad for only a $4,000.00 investment over 2 years.
With the pending IPO of AllSportsMarket I am hoping that my 12,410 shares of corporate stock will make me an instant dot.com millionaire. Although private placement has ended for the corporate stock there are a lot of great deals on derivatives at the moment. I concentrate on the NHL as I am a BIG hockey fan. I also have shares in Nascar Nextel Series and the Nascar Truck Series. The truck series has been a great return on my investment. I invested in Ted Musgrave at
467 shares and he has been paying me a return on that investment at about $5.00 - $12.00 per race. Also the share price has increased to $1.99 from my initial cost of $0.77.
If you love sports and trade stocks, why not merge the two and have some fun putting your sports knowledge and business savvy to the test.
