My latest rant is about misleading advertising and why I am no longer going to support giveawayoftheday.com on my site.
This all started when I downloaded a free copy of muveeNow. I wanted to unleash my creative side in an attempt to show intenetmarketingninjas.com that I can create professional presentations for free.
DRAT!
My plans have been foiled by giveawayoftheday.com, as they did not deliver as advertised. You can read what I said to them. Whether they act on my complaint or not, is anyones guess. We shall see what they are made of.
Lucy, you got some ’splainin’ to do
I do like getting free stuff and for the most part this site rocks but with this product you have not delivered as advertised.
Here is the pattern I followed - Just like any other software from you:
I download it
I unzip it
I run Activate.exe
I run Setup.exeAnd it should work right? It probably does if you install it and ‘run’ it in the free time frame but if you just install it without ‘running’ it then it will only work in trial mode.
According to your readme.txt file attached to the zip file, I only had to install the software. I did that in the necessary time frame. I did not run it as I did not have time to explore it then.
Today, I did have the time, and I wanted to look at it. However, it only works in 21-day free trial mode…why is that?
You guys either need to change your readme.txt or make it so freebies work as advertised.
So now tell me…how do I get this out of trial mode? I followed your instructions, so you owe me a free one!
The Mad Ape is P.O.’d at you Lucy. Don’t make me rip you out a new one on my blog!
The Mad Ape has spoken
Too late - I already did! When you removed my post from your site you made the MadApe very very mad. Bad bad humans. I have posted a paraphrased version of my original message on your forums. Will you delete that too?
Giveawayoftheday.com - do the right thing and live up to your commitment.
So far my forum post remains, and according to the forum moderator ‘BuBBy’, this is only the second piece of software that this has occurred with. It does not matter…1 or 1000…their instructions were wrong. Plain and simple…misleading advertising.
Because of this I have removed the link from my footer that had said: ‘I love giveawayoftheday.com’. I can not say that anymore. I may be convinced otherwise, if they give me a free copy of the muveeNow.
That way I can continue my plans to outdo the evil Internetmarketingninjas and take over the world!
