Posted by The Mad Ape as Affiliate Programs, Scams
I am a trusting sort of person. So I always give any affiliate program I promote benefit of the doubt. But if I get screwed over I will be slamming that program like Barry Bonds on steroids slams a home run. The only reason I am bringing this up is that I see a few bloggers are now calling the whole thing a scam and that the company is out-and-out lying about their claims to having top companies as advertisers.
For all of our sake I sure hope this negative blogging is BS. Time will tell as the program is set to start on February 1st, 2007. If there are delays then my alarm bells will go off. If they pass that test then I will wait them out to see if the pass the most important test of all: Paying me for ads served. Again time will tell.
My theory is simple, I like the concept of keeping my traffic on my site and I like the concept of not taking up any site space while getting a 100% conversion rate. Since I have not paid them any money, nor do I intend to…I am all over this program like a fat kid on a Snickers Bar.

Speaks on Digital Point
Hello everybody!
I was invited to join this group by STE1975. Thanks Steve.
Just a couple of things:
First, the message from config.com. Whenever a program get to the size we have, it is inevitable that trolls, scammers and celebrity stalkers crawl out from under the rocks.
We agree with Joe at config.com that anybody who goes out and gets a similar url to ours MUST not have the best of intent. ‘sellppp.net’ is NOT related, in any way, to our legitimate ‘sellingppp.com’. Nuff said, they are not us. Avoid them.
We are most often asked three questions and I am taking the liberty of pasting my canned response to these topics.
I enjoy reading these posts and really appreciate being able to add my $0.02.
I want to clarify three misconceptions:
1) CPM is determined by the results of our audit by BPA Worldwide. One thing really missing from Internet advertising is the time honored tradition of ‘Third Party Audit’ to assure advertisers that the placements that they are paying for actually occur. Think ‘Nielson Ratings’.
2) Volume! We digitally smooth and manage every audio we play so there is no BLASTING of the eardrums. Most audio on the net is played as it was recorded, without gain control, noise reduction or any other professional editing to make it comfortable to hear. We spent several years and hundreds of millions of audio plays getting this part right. Why do you think we gave away Voice2Page for personal use for free all this time?
3) Overuse – This is the most valid concern mentioned here. The temptation to place an audio ad everywhere is quite strong, but that would be extremely counterproductive for all concerned. We have built our engines to determine, as best as possible, each individual website visitor and to insure that they receive no more than ONE ad and if they remain on that domain more than three minutes, another, different ad may be played.
As with all advertising, there is a segment of the population that abhors it. This cannot be avoided. In a free market society, advertising is essential for growth. We truly feel that the concept of the ‘Adlet’, a 5 to 6 second branding ad, is one of the least intrusive means to keep a label in people’s minds.
Thank you all for this opportunity to get my $0.02 out.

I agree with you completely. This could be a flop, or it could be very big. There is a lot of hype to it, but I have a feeling it’s for real. The concept makes sense to me, and the income claims are realistic. If they turn out to be accurate, we will be making much more off of NetAudioAds than off of the AdSense we use now.

Internet Audio by Voice2page, NetAudioAds and PayPerPlay …..All Great Ideas… So What’s the Problem?
I have been a user and supporter of voice2page and netaudioads for quite some time now, actually before they came out with PlayPerPlay. I actually use the voice2page feature on my site http://www.collectmychecks.com (click on my site and listen to the audio…I recorded it with my phone… it works great, good sound quality and super easy to set up)
Let’s face it, the majority of the plain text pages out there on the internet are pretty boring and most of us have a pretty short attention span when we are surfing for information. Attention grabber graphics and video are becoming more and more popular and actually seem to be required to some degree to help us draw more visitors and hold them for any length of time.
So this internet audio concept makes perfect sense….. still not sure about the merits of internet audio.. …ok try this…go turn on your TV and try and watch it for any length of time with the sound turned off…pretty boring right.
We have to do something different to hold the visitors attention…why not embrace internet audio make our sites more PERSONABLE. We are always looking for ways to make our web site presentations more interactive, informative, interesting etc. Using voice2page you can actually talk to your web site visitors and even change your message anytime you want, from anywhere and as often as you want…brilliant. These guys are going to make internet history with this technology and probably impact the way we all communicate with each other over the internet in the very near future… IMO
The netaudioads idea is a great way to allow you to monetize your site, if that is what you want to do, which is pretty ingenious if you ask me. They seem to have figured out a way to help us communicate information without competing with overpopulated sites and web page limitations. There is only so much real-estate available on a web page before it becomes too cluttered and people just click away because of the overload of stuff on the page.
The big picture appears to be that voice2page is trying to take the internet to the next level of internet communication with endless application possibilities. The facts seemed to be…the search engine giants like it, the advertisers like it, many web site publishers are starting to get it. I would imagine that it will probably become mainstream pretty soon.
It does not make a whole lot of sense to try and find fault with the concept because it is probably going to be very successful regardless of the knit-picker negative comments, which there always is somebody who does not like something. What amazes me is the amount of time and energy some people spend to tell everybody how much that do not like something…hey …just move on if you dislike it that much.
Anybody heard whether voice2page is going public anytime soon…I think this would be a good stock buy.
But don’t take my word for it …go check it out for yourself at http://www.payperplayinsider.com
Personally I am going to stick around and watch what they do next, like adding voice to pictures, comment players that work like an online voice mail box…with photos and video, and maybe be able to make phone calls from your computer to anywhere in the world for free…who knows what these guys are up to. Here is their main web site http://www.voice2page.com
If you have an opinion or question about voice2page or netaudioads, forward your comments to their email box at support@voice2page.com they may be interested in what you think.
