@bigups43 Actually. I do need that chickens life to survive. Just as that chicken needs the life in the grain it eats. Life feeds on Life.
Now. As for beliefs. What you’re saying is ethical nihilism at it’s worse. Does that same argument apply to murder and rape ? “If you don’t believe in rape, just don’t rape anyone, but don’t push your beliefs on others.”

@nate556 Fact of the matter is you dont need that chickens life to survive. And if someone has an abortion it could potentially help me survive because its one less human consuming resources and jobs and what have you. On the other hand the baby could become the scientist who invents free energy, so I feel its a moot point. People should just do what they want. If you dont agree with abortion, dont have one, but also dont push your beliefs on others.

I need the chicken’s life to survive: so i will take it. I need the carrots life to survive: so i will take it. How does Abortion fit into survival ? Are you going to die if that baby is born ? Or does killing the unborn child help you survive ? If not. Then it’s un-neccessary.

@TheArbiter74 In my opinion. Freedom is more important than any and all socio-economic interests. The problem I have with most people on the Left, is they say things like “Can’t trust the government” yet… they always vote to give government more control and power and oversight of their lives.
Am i the only one who refuses to vote for evil, even if it’s the lesser of the two ?

I’m against abortion. However. I’m not a christian at all. I view life as sacred, and new life even more so. This is probably the only issue I really disagree with Hicks on.

I probably have biased motives for saying this but I don’t care, he wasn’t just funny, he was a genius… that makes you stupid, at least according to my definition of the word. probably because you are the type of person he talked about in his shows, as those are the only people I’ve come across who don’t love him.

@Zebonka Even though you were not being serious, you are still correct that everyone should know education gets you better jobs- and I don’t mean just a college education. Plumbers, electricians, machinists-all make more money if they have some education in their field. The pay difference at a factory between the guy shoveling metal chips and the guy cutting the piece of metal on a CNC machine is several dollars an hour. The difference is the programmer/operator requires more education.

@Zebonka Thats brainwashing and misses the point entirely. Yes, Hicks makes good points and is funny. But giving kids little choice but to live according to his teachings is not only mind control and therefore fucked up but given Hicks’ ‘think for yourselves’ philosophy, may be a paradox. “Do as I say and think for yourself!!”. “You’re free to do as we say!”
Instead, how about telling kids that reading is okay, some people lie and when they’re older and have personalities, expose them to Hicks?
