Posted by The Mad Ape as Affiliate Programs, Traffic Building
I have removed a lot of programs off of my blog. It is not that they are bad but they just were not working for me. The blog was starting too look a little on the cluttered side so unless it was generating substantial traffic and/or revenue I turfed it.
Gone are BlogRush, Adgridwork, Offerweb, NeverBlueAds and DealDotCom
With BlogRush I was getting traffic but the conversion rate was approximately 0.01%. Absolutely pathetic. Adgridwork was much the same way. Very low conversions. Some would argue that some traffic is better than none, but the amount of real-estate that each were using on my site did not justify the return they were providing.
With DealDotCom I have been totally unsuccessful. I have not made any money off of them so discontinued their service. I can replace them with something that will earn me money.
As far as Offerweb and NeverBlueAds, I have had some success but again the space they occupied was too much for what they have provided. I will still use them as they do provide some monetary return. But the space they get will now just be a text ad that appears at the top of my pages.
So What am I left with?
Google Adsense - I have bashed Google plenty of times in this blog and elsewhere but in the end they do provide me with a steady revenue flow. I have never bashed them about money, only about their ‘bullying’ attitude towards the marketplace.
Kontera - I have just recently added them to the fold and they are providing me a CTR of 1.65%. That works for me!
ClickBank - Again, I recently added them and use their hoplinks system for promoting various digital products that target my audience. Their system is great and already has shown signs of providing a good steady income.
NetAudioAds - These guys are still in beta, but their concept is simply amazing. Pay-Per-Play…I love the idea of getting a 100% conversion rate. When it goes live in February 2008, I hope to cash in on this one! Advertisers will have to love this for it to work so it will be up to us to provide a good audience and up to NetAudioAds to provide high quality targeted traffic for the advertisers. I am confident that they will provide security to prevent abuse of this new advertising vehicle.
Bidvertiser - I am keeping these guys because they offer $20.00 in free clicks to advertisers. There are no strings so they are good on my book!
So there you have it…now on with the show
