Apathethic America to blame for the George Bush and Dick Cheney Legacy

History will remember George Bush and Dick Cheney as the worst President and Vice President of all time. But it is not their fault. It is you, the American citizen, that allowed it to happen and for that you should be ashamed. The country that your forefathers spilled their blood for, to rid themselves of tyranny, has lost its way. America needs to rise up and say enough is enough.

At the end of the day I blame the country’s youth for the problems. They have been bought off with toys and gizmos and as long as they can buy stuff, get drunk, get laid, and have a good time, then they have all that they want. Little by little, through your blind greed, here is what you have allowed to happen:

Loss of Free Speech: Remember this?

I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

Now you have designated Free Speech Zones. This is intended to coral opposing points of view, segregating them, thus controlling them.

If you question or criticize the government you are labeled Un-American. Truth of the matter is you are Un-American if you do not question or criticize your government.

Weapons of Mass Deception

You allowed your country to go to war with Iraq under the guise of Weapons of Mass Destruction. When it was proven that this was an orchestrated Weapon of Mass Deception, you did nothing.

Abu Ghraib

When evidence emerged that members of the American Military were engaged in the torture, humiliation, and forced sexual acts of prisoners at Abu Ghraib, you did nothing.

Rendition

When your leaders approved the sending of citizens to countries that specialized in torture, you did nothing. When it was proven to you that innocent people were sent to foreign countries for torture, you did nothing.

Other Freedoms Lost

Freedom of Association

The government may monitor political and religious institutions without suspecting criminal activity to assist terror investigations.

Freedom of Information

The government has closed the once-public immigration hearings, has secretly detained hundreds of people without charges, and has encouraged bureaucrats to resist public records questions.

Freedom of Speech

The government can prosecute librarians or any records keeper if they tell anyone that the government subpoenaed information related to a terror investigation.

Right to Legal Representation

The government may monitor federal prison and jailhouse conversations between attorneys and clients. They may also deny legal representation to Americans accused of crimes.

Freedom from Unreasonable Searches

The government may seize Americans’ papers and belongings without probable cause under the guise of a terror investigation.

Right to a Speedy Trial

The government may jail Americans indefinitely without trial.

Right to Liberty

The government may jail Americans without being charged or able to confront witnesses against them.

So that was yesterday – now what?

This is the world that you live in. It is a world of government-propagated, media-induced fear that has turned you into a submissive ostrich. The government has scared you into submission and you did nothing.

Now they, along with the financial power brokers, will destroy your wealth. So far you have done nothing. Why is that America? Has the fluoride in your toothpaste and drinking water made you a quiet, good little debt-slave? A passive robot?

Obama is not your savior. He is a Wall Street chameleon who will continue to destroy your economy by increasing debt levels to a point that your whole economy will implode.

What will it take to get you motivated? No home? No food? No job? Nothing is what you will have unless you stand up for yourself. Will you continue to do nothing America?
