We all want a traffic boost to our site. There are many ways to do this, but in this little experiment I randomly picked a pay-for-traffic site and placed an order with them.

I have just spent $77.00 with a company called www.advertyz.com. This money guarantees that I will receive 10,000 unique USA visitors per day for 10 days. That is 100,000 visitors in total. It is a ’shotgun’ campaign…in other words not targeted.

While I have my doubts about whether something like this will translate into new readers, I am doing it for a number of reasons:

1) To see if it does work - Will I get any new members signing up for my newsletter? Signing up for my RSS feed? Get an increase in my affiliate referrals or products.

2) To see if this company provides traffic as advertised. I use Google Analytics to monitor this blog and I will compare numbers. Google Analytics says it may take up to 24 hours for the reporting to be updated, so I can not report stats until one day after each day of the campaign.

3) With this increased traffic I should see a spike in my BlogRush and adgridwork impressions.

4) For what it is worth it should also improve my Alexa Rankings.
